Jolly Reading is an independent company owned by Dr. Susan Whittaker:
- Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, with research in Early Literacy
- School administrator adopting the program for children in an integrated program.
- Teacher for 17 years, teaching Jolly Phonics in preschool and kindergarten.
- Trainer of Jolly Phonics and Jolly Literacy since 2013
- Head of Research and Efficacy for North America, Jolly Learning, UK
- Assistant Professor and currently Field Supervisor for Student Teachers, Niagara University, New York

Jolly Literacy Training
(Grades 1 – 6)

Includes:
- In-depth training using Jolly Literacy 1 through 6
- Components of Jolly Literacy: Spelling, Grammar and Punctation with our NEW addition, Reading Composition and Creative Writing
- PowerPoint overview of the entire program
- Implementation of all Jolly Literacy materials
- Foundational review on the 3 steps of Jolly Phonics
- Question and Answer Session
Balanced Literacy for Children with Developmental Delays and ASD (including non-verbal learners)
2 hours
Includes:
- In-depth training using balanced literacy (synthetic phonics and whole language)
- PowerPoint overview of the entire program
- Implementation of the balanced literacy program
- Foundational review on how children learn to read and why some children learn differently
- Question and Answer Session
Bringing Read-aloud Story Time Back to Life
(reducing screen story-time)

Includes:
- In-depth training on developing a literacy block that includes reading aloud to children
- PowerPoint overview of the entire program
- Implementation – strategies to engage children in a “read-aloud” session
- Foundational review – how screen time affects the brain and how conducting active a “read-aloud” can lead to increased academic achievement
